Members of the Organizing committee Trans* Pride Belgrade spoke yesterday, on the 8th of September 2015, at the Government of the Republic of Serbia with Minister in charge for European integration Jadranka Joksimović.

Real challenges members of trans* community are everyday facing were discussed during the meeting, along with the legal gap they have been put which represents one of the basic obstacles for claiming and exercising Constitutionally guaranteed rights.


They spoke about changing the legislation regulating issuing personal documentation for trans* persons, as well as about the necessity of opening a drop in center, strategically connected with authorized institutions aiming to provide effective aid and support for trans* persons.

Interlocutors pointed out to the existing problem of violence towards trans* persons, as well as to the necessity of their socio-economic position improvement, regarding their marginalization.

Minister Joksimović indicated the requirement of dialogue development within the society on the problems of trans* community and their prompt solving.

Jadranka Joksimović and members of her Cabinet supported Trans* Pride Belgrade, to be held on the 20th of September 2015.

Organizing committee of Trans* Pride Belgrade believes this meeting is a beginning of a fruitful dialogue and constructive collaboration with the Cabinet of the Minister for European integration and other departments on exercising the rights and quality of life improvement for trans* persons in Serbia.
